Everyday Sculpture (2017)

Title of work:

Everyday Sculpture

Place: Kunstnernes hus, Oslo

Technic: Metal fences and vintage suitcases

Year: 2017

Text: (Stefan Schröder)

This installation combines two types of ready-made materials, standard metal fences and used suitcases, to divide the exhibition space into two parts. Using an easy-to-read visual language, topics such as tourism and migration, construction sites and event culture can be read into the work. Visitors can engage with the artwork while moving through the exhibition space. Everyday Sculpture limits the spectators’ moving radius in a symbolic manner. Either way, as a visitor, you are neither inside nor outside the space it creates.
